New TV Series for Michael Shanks - CTV's "Saving Hope" Picked Up...

I've watched about 4 episodes so far and I'm struggling a bit to carry on watching.

I really want to like it because of Shanks, but it seems a bit confusing what Saving Hope wants to be, a medical drama or supernatural.

The series gets better as Season 1 progresses, hang in there a few of my friends weren't fan of it either but they started enjoying it as the series continued!

If you go back thru the thread you'll find that a lot of us weren't thrilled with the 1st ep but it did get better by the end of the season and season 2 is even better.

I went from watching because Michael was in it and there was nothing better on, to eagerly looking forward to the next episode.

I remember thinking when I first heard about the series, I was really excited because it aired the day after my birthday and I knew I was in for a treat to see Michael and Erica Durance (Smallville had just ended and I was desperate for a new show to watch over the summer!) again. I had seen them on Stargate and Smallville but this role was different for both of them!

I've watched 4 more episodes today and actually enjoyed watching them all. Mind you, I have never liked all the blood and surgical operations that comes with the medical dramas lol.

But starting to get into it now

I've been watching the first series in real time all over again but this time with my husband who, as a complete spoilerphobe, has waited until it airs in the UK...it's been a complete revelation how much he's been enjoying this....he's an NCIS, Falling Skies, Dexter type man so I though SH would be so out of his league of enjoyment....but he absolutely loves it!..and his enjoyment and enthusiasm has given me a fresh perspective on it...and I'm also enjoying it much more than I did the first time around when I "watched" it on my computer..


Can't wait for the 2nd series to continue and then start over here in the UK...


Oh and I'm sorry guys I couldn't ask any spoilery questions re SH at LFCC...in the panels it was mainly Stargate fans and Stargate-related questions and I had so many things to chat about with Michael during our brief autos and photo ops encounters I couldn't ask it....will try again next weekend at F.A.C.T.S...

OK...I had a bit of a chat with Michael about THAT scene today at F.A.C.T.S...answer under spoiler tags...

He said it took no time to film..he just jumped on this trampoline in this garden they'd chosen on location and it was done very quickly...he said that not only did he jump up and down on it but some of the crew had a go too

As to the metaphor of why? He was not so sure...I get the feeling that he didn't have the same enthusiasm for the idea behind it as the writers and directors...*snort* he and I got the idea that it was mainly used so that the focus was on Joel going to the meeting with Alex and not Charlie

Some kind soul was very helpful in helping me get my Shanks fix! They posted 7 full episodes of Season 2 on YouTube, I spent the entire day yesterday swooning. My biggest problem, why don't they put him in more blue to bring out his blue eyes? I mean don't get me wrong he does great in the green ones but I rather see him in some blue ones. Also I loved his singing in the operating room, I was literally swooning and rewinding over and over to hear his gorgeous singing.

CTV has ordered an 18-episode third season!

Great news though....nice to see a Canadian TV company getting behind it's series....they are pretty loyal, unlike some other North American networks eh?...
