The 1st was excellent - one of my favorite mini series. The 2nd was good too. Skip the 3rd - North and South in name only, none of the actors or quality of the 1st two.
Heaven & Hell, North & South: Book III seems rushed, as if it had been intended to be a six parter like the first two and then had been cut down to a three parter. The editing is terrible as well, we see Charles Main as a Corporal then as a 1st Sgt. then a shot as a Corporal again, no demotion, just careless editing. Also, Book III seems to take place in an alternate universe from Books I & II, at the end of Book II Stanley and Isabel are facing prison and Bent is killed, then in Book III Bent escaped death and Stanley & Isabel are still free and no mention is made of their legal troubles from the last series.
Also, where the heck did Cooper Main come from? All of a sudden in Book III there is an older brother to Orry, Brett & Ashton that was never mentioned in the first two series.

After all of the drama and pathos of North & South, I'm ready for something funny and lighthearted so I'm watching season 2 of The Flintstones. 4thDoctorgrin.gif
