I suspect the "strange friend" isn't a romantic interest at all. I think she's got some other reason to keep the relationship secret and is just using Tony's suspicions as a convenient cover story. Of course, I have absolutely nothing to base that on .

I admit I haven't kept up with this series quite as Chronologically over the last year, been busy with kids but I watched last night and I'm confused.

I thought Tony and Ziva were secretly dating/sleeping together, is that true? I remember an episode from last seaosn where they both told McGee about sleeping on the couch or something and in the end, the kind of winked and asked why they lied to McGee...I assumed that meant they were sleeping together. Did I make this up?

No, they are not dating, they are in a heavily induced UST (unresolved sexual tension) but depending on writer, it changes a bit on what level of UST they are on, this particular writer also wrote the episode where they may or may not have slept in the same bed.

I agree. That was bugging me actually in this episode.

I thought the whole Ziva-Tony thing was so "last/previous/seventh season" or even before in the sixth season. Seems like a set-back to before.

I wish they would either get together or move on, I hate how shows leave people in limbo long term. Like Sam and Jack on SG-1, either get together or move on!

with Tony and Ziva their behavior and such in the last episode, I really think this is the case here, too. I think it's time for them to either get together or get over it. Personally, I don't think either side of that has a big advantage over the other. But now it's kinda irritating me.

i'm wondering if R is a woman or someone totally unromantic that ziva caught up with in florida

as to tony and ziva, the whole sharing the hotel room thing was when they flew back to paris to escort the witness back, both said the other slept on the couch

I don't think sex happened as much as they dealt with tony killing michael, tony risking his life to avenge her, her realizing that she did wrong by hiding michael, etc (I have this fanfic idea of, when she was asleep, had a nightmare which allowed them to clear the air, yelling cursing, crying, etc...and they both realized that they shared the blame)

tony did what ziva's dad didn't do, cared enough to avenge her (we don't know for sure, but i'd be willng to bet that Eli knew she was alive but a hostage but couldn't risk the rescue so left her to die)

tony, mcgee, gibbs, they all cared enough to risk thier lives and careers for her, while her own family just used her as a resource.

Ziva David, Mossad returns... and interesting to see Tony is able to spot just how much she has changed since joining NCIS.... and another hint at THAT episode and their 'acting'

It was about time that Tony and Tim are getting along better on screen again. I agree. When Ziva was gone and not only then, generally in other episodes before, they seemed to get along just fine. But the last episodes were taking a leave of that. However, I was thinking it must just be part of their normal relationship. In a way they really are acting a bit like a married couple.
