Gonna comment on some of the already asked questions...hope that's ok. Can he technically get a promotion since he's not in the military? He's already a Doctor and doubt the acheology community is gonna promote him for his Stargate work And he has been seen working out at the gym in at least a few episodes, so he does care about his body.
