Anywho... Stargate has nothing on Star Trek franchise, or Star Wars for that matter, and that's exactly what it needs. People who are invested in bringing back the lore and who aren't afraid to spin it out of its comfort zone.

However, it has to be new and fresh. No reboot -- that seems to be the norm these days and I hate to say it but that's a recipe for disaster.

Proper Stargate Rewatch -- season 10 of SG-1

My greatest fear for Stargate is that it would follow in the steps of Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr. Who and so many others becoming "Woke". If that happens, regardless of what sort of show they make I won't watch. I had faith that Brad Wright (perhaps along with Joe Mallozi) could bring the show back to its former glory, but if MGM has passed on them, my faith in future Stargate is minimal. I want a future series to be good, not sacrificing good storytelling for "the message".

How would SG1 have been if Carter was always dunking on her male teammates, who would be portrayed as incompetent? Teal'c portrayed and berated as a backwards "toxic male" because of his Jaffa culture, or would he get a soft pass because of it, the bigotry of low expectations? Or an episode about a new recruit transitioning to male unrealistically out performing her colleagues to show how the sexes are "equal"?

The point is, none of that would make for good viewing except perhaps for a tiny minority of niche people who probably wouldn't watch anyway. Or perhaps white liberal women who want to feel virtuous about being inclusive and other such nonsense. None of that sort of thing pushes a story forward about space aliens, galactic exploration and dangers, or whether Earth can survive a hostile interstellar invasion. Most of us watch to ESCAPE reality for a while, not to be hammered in the head with cultural politics going on in real life. A limited soft morality message is fine, but the berserk sledgehammer of messaging is NOT okay.

      Anyway, that's my $0.02.

I don't want to be the bringer of bad news, boomer, but Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek are very much alive and kicking, and bringing in new fans every day.

Haters gonna hate, and clearly that's where you belong so I sincerely hope the next Stargate will be woke as heck.

Let's end with a quote from the dictionary Meriam-Webster:

stay woke: take a stand and be active; challenging injustices and racism in our communities and fighting hatred and discrimination wherever it rises.

You know I do not take sides, and I belive in 'live and let live'

But the definition I have found is "Perceived as smug, virtue signalling and intolerant of other viewpoints"
