how much power does earth really have?

in my opinion the tauri have evolved in to a great new power in the galazy but i jst want to know what people think as to what we should do with this power, and in what way it will manifest itself in the near future.

better tech in daily lives. when everythings becomes peaceful in our galaxy. the sga would be made public. there would be a treaty among the galaxy. after a few years trading will commerce and we would have better technology.

unless there is a threat of an enemy. then we would be developing weapons.

When everything becomes peaceful in the galaxy (unlikely if the situations bare any resemblence with our real world), the stargate will be announced to big businesses, who will get lotsa patents, then when they're satisfied, the whole world will know about it.

i agree we might not see this on the show but very soon the stargate will be public knowledge and we will become like the ancients, in a way, because loads of people will want to explore the galaxy on thier own - like we saw in '2010'

When you think about the Tauri are one of the most powerful races in our galaxy now, i would say in order of power
1. Nox
2. Asgard
3. Tollans (If any are left)
4. Tauri (We are more advanced because of asgard but we still dont have the resources
5. The Aschen (Got alot more tech but not in the sence of being a threat)

I wouldnt call it power otherwise it sounds like we are trying to take control, we are kinda like the asgard to them but dont give them as much tech we got more of a Tollan/Nox aproach to them

We do have the resources now to constitute our planet as quite powerful, but the tech is under wraps. One thing is for sure, to me, and that is that although we don't have the resources that the Asguard have and we are a young race compared to others, we make do with what we have and that turns out to be a lot. We are a very creative, tactical, and resourceful race, in that respect.
