There's also less nudity, as in NONE. The original episode DVDs actually have nudity in the two hour pilot (the first two episodes).

The nudity serves a story purpose, it's not just "throw in some skin in cause we are on showtime"

Start with the 1994 Kurt Russel movie, Stargate, with David Spader as Daniel.
Then move onto Season 1-7 of SG1.
When you get to S8 of SG1, you should really go 1 disk of SG1, 1 disk of SGA (season 1), till you are done with S8-10/S1-3. Then since SG1 is done with, just watch arc of truth and continuum before restarting up S4 and 5 of Atlantis.

That would be James Spader as Daniel, not David Spader.

I would watch all seasons of SG-1 before moving onto Atlantis and then Universe. I don't think the story lines intertwine so much that you would "benefit" from watching every other. And I would watch the 1994 movie first, they do refer to it quite a lot, especially in the beginning.

I've seen the episodes until the end of season 7 and also only Prometheous Unbound from season 8 - they are post Heroes
