    Human Form Replicators

Why did they take the form of humans and not Asgard?
And do we ever know how or why the replicators from Reese went to the Asgard Galaxy?
Watching the episode we first see Fifth, got me wonderin...

    Thanks

The Replicators were built by the Ancients, and the Ancients looked like humans. So I assumed the Replicators wanted to look like their creators.

They said they took 'the most effective and efficient form they knew of', Humans (Ancients) being far more advanced than the Asgard at the time.

        Wait Wait,
        Pegasus replicators =/= Ida/MW replicators

        Easy to figure out
Ancient replicators were BUILT as nanites
Ida replicators were big clunkers till they took a 500year trip through evolution and became nanites

We are led to believe Reese built the first Ida/MW replicators as toys.

Ah right you mean those ones. I've no idea why they evolved into human form, the act that they 'evolved' at all is a mystery, as the whole point of being a replicator is, well, replicating...

KEK and RT, you've missed the actual reason (which is only alluded to by the newbie)

It was actually said in "Unnatural Selection" that they based their human form design on their 'ancestor', Reese, whose information they found in the Asgard databases.
"A society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it, the end." -- Penelope Wilton in Ricky Gervais's After Life

In the episode Unnatural selection first states

First: When our Replicator brethren discovered the android Reese, they realized she was their creator. They studied her design and form and found aspects of her technology superior to their own.

Oh dear, +reps on your second post. You're off to a good start, except for your screen name getting word wrapped by the forum tables
