Gee why not just make a cartoon with a big ring that transports people to far away places and then call the show something like 'Space Ring' or something. Not many original ideas out there anymore is there.

W.I.T.C.H. is born in Italy, where the stargate franchise is not so popular, and most of its young fans are totally unable to understand these references...
