Filming in the UK?

My parents were driving from London to Birmingham for a conference earlier today and called me this afternoon at around 12:30-1:00pm saying that while stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway they saw what looked like a film crew, cameras, actors in army fatigues and a STARGATE when they looked out of the window. Does anyone know what this could be about because as far as I know there isn't any filming going on at the moment for any part of the SG franchise? Is there something going on that hasn't been made public yet or could the filming just have been for something else?

Somewere on this forum there are pictures that someone took of SGU crew in his/her street, but that was in canada i think.
Have no idea about filming in the UK, though that would be cool.

UNIT - a military organisation in the Whoniverse, playing a role, however they don't wear camo fatigues, they wear black. So it depends what type of fatigues you saw...

Filming for Stargate Universe has already started, but i didn't think it was been filmed in Pommy Land (England)??? Would be awesome if they filmed it in Australia.

i would think if the show was being taped in the UK, it'd be news

given their budget, i can't see them spending millions to tape across the pond

I would more likely suspect torchwood, primeval, who or another bbc show

Wow, that's it! My parents did say it was off the M6 and so it must be this, thanks very much.

And thanks to everyone else for their input...I knew filming in the UK would be too good to be true.
