The Enemy Within

Kawalsky was awesome!!! He totally could have been part of the regular cast leading SG-2...that would've been SWEET!!!

I would have liked that, too. But I think that TPTB wanted SG-1 to be really tight, and if Jack's best buddy was on SG-2 that logically wouldn't happen. Plus, it just makes Jack an even more tragic character than he was already.

Anyway, I watched Abyss, and that's what made me come to that conclusion about Kawalsky, because of how Daniel and Jack interacted.
