I have a feeling that another spin-off would go in an entirely different direction again. Maybe with new enemies? Again, I don't see how Ba'al could fit into that, other than a on guest spot.

Ba'al was somehow de-Goulded and his host survived, a la Sara Gardener and Vala, and of course, he has all that knowledge stored in his mind and the SGC see him now as a potential assett, and of course, the host, now freed, wants to help out to make up for the atrocities and stuff. Just a thought. Wonder what his hosts original name was......Tarquin perhaps

On a non SG! note, IMHO I think Cliff Simon would be sooo perfect or the next James Bond, how cool would that be.

And I too think another spin-off will most likely take a whole new direction. And I don't think I'd like Ba'al as much if he's no longer the Goa'uld Ba'al.

I have ideas for a spinoff floating around in my head (I know this isn't technically a spin off thread) but, imagine this. Ater the Ori invade the MW, huge battles ensue and they are eventually defeated, but not without high costs, many planets devstated, or at least badly affected, including Earth, the Stargate network fragmented, factions springing up all over the galaxy to take full advantage of the choas, who better to have on alongside our beloved SGC than Ba'al's host with, among other things the symbiote's extensive knowledge of the gate system (and yes, I haven't forgotten that Neryus was supposed to be the one, but Ba'al would have learned a lot and he is very intelligent after all) to help begin repairing the damage and reuniting the people of the galaxy, and help them overcome these predatory factions.

pat you know im with you and cliff on this one, i even sent a letter, hows that for support, and you know how lazy i can be! i saw the preview for casino royale 2 days ago and i was thinking while watching it "next one could be cliff" i really saw him in it too, and because cliff is already associated with MGM it ot farfetch to see them moving him to new projects, im sure they won't want to lose the talent they have been endorsing and building up for 10 years. Baal for bond!

I think letters are always very useful, be they letters that are pro Ba'al for Bond, or pro Ba'al for Bond villain. As long as it gets the producers thinking, that is what I am after. If they have a good look at Cliff and see him as the Bond Villain, so be it. If, on the other hand, they decide he'd be great as Bond a few years down the road, then that's fine too. Cliff is a very talented actor. Because he is not American and came to acting in his thirties instead of as a young 20 something, it has not been as easy for him to become established as an actor in Hollywood. This is all about giving him the support he deserves to work on projects that will help build his career. Surely that is worth sending a letter or two to promote him to the stargate or MGM producers.
