Also having seen it, I will say you can safely watch the finale of Atlantis without having seen SG1, the crossover must not happen until the 2nd half of the episode, next season.

I've already seen the SGA final and it's great! I'm a hopeless addict so I need to see all eps when they air.
And I can wait until summer for new eps. Lot of time to rewatch all seasons.

As I and others have said: If you can see "Allies", do it! There's no SG-1 spoilers in there. I doubt they would've aired it in Canada if there were!
