What would you take with you?
What would you have to leave behind that you would really miss?

How do you define personal item? Anything that is strictly yours, like a favorite stuffed toy, or anything from Earth, like a box of pens or a book?

For personal personal items, I'd take my pillow and a pic of my familiy, since they're what I'd miss most (obviously).

For general personal I'd take Jonas (he's supersmart and supercute) and a bookreader thingy loaded down with as many books as I can possibly cram into it.

I'd miss my family, the internet, regular meals, regular personal hygiene routines, and I'd miss being able to wake up every morning knowing where I am and not having to worry about alien monsters trying to kill me.

I'd probably just bring my favorite book...something like Brave New World, and maybe a giant box of kleanax because like Jackson...I have allergies....and sucks...but the paper is good for other things too. You know? And other than that I'm good to go.

I wondered about that. What the hell is the obsession with those stupid threads, anyway? I still think they should ALL be moved off topic as they serve no real purpose towards anything. Endless lists aren't conducive to real conversation.

Then again, I also seem to recall starting a thread of my own in OT which was a bit more expansive, but basically the same. Maybe I should dig that up...

You know, I started this post this morning thinking I might find out something about my fellow posters from their replies. After all you can tell a lot about a person from the things they consider to be important. Silly me, I had been looking forward to getting on line after a long day at work to find out what my forum mates had to say. I had no idea that it would be met with such ridicule.

I'd take a damage/water-proof photo album,containing pics of all my family and best friends.
I'd also take a locket containing a little bit of my Hubby's and children's hair,as a good-luck charm.(In case of evil scientist aliens,etc,I'd be prepared to destroy both precious items,.....protective to the last,that's me !! )

It might be dangerous to take the hair. The evil alien scientist could sneak up on you, take your loved ones' hair and make a bunch of evil clones and where would we be then?

I think my "Gatelets" may already have been tampered with,or cloned,......how else can I explain the sulks and huffs.
I know it's probably the "Angst" and hormones kicking in really,but "Alien" intervention seems a much cooler excuse,IMO !

Maybe I'd better think up some better choices of personal items .....!
How about......1) Catering sized tin of my fave Coffee.
2) My daughter's old stuffed Siberian Tiger "Beanie".

OK. Now I'm getting a hilarious mental image of Caffeine-crazed Alien scientists trying to DNA test Timmy the Tiger...........HELP !

You know, I was convinced beyond reasoning that my three sons were alien transplants during various times in their growing up years. Everytime I walked into their bedrooms, I was sure they were trying to create an alien environment here on earth and that 'things' were being bred in the rabid dust bunny environment under the bed. *shudder* I stop going in there without an armed escort after I lost a broom under there....

Coffee? What brand? I'll bring the cream and sugar....I'm a helpless Starbucks addict....

Just to be funny, a set of bagpipes. Can you imagine? Atlantis probably has some great acoustics, but even if you could play them well, everyone but Beckett would be trying to kill you within a week. Could work though, you'd want him on your side in a situation like that.
