I've always wonder what would happen if for no reason you tried to go back through an incoming wormhole.

Thats why in 100 days Teal'c needed a rope and harpoon arrangement to attach himself to the roof of the cavern. In Death Knell the gate was facing down, whereas in 100 days, it was facing up.

Your right, dumb me wasn't thinking. It said it if you look in the analysis part of A Hundred Days.
