And, infuriatingly the new record is meaningless.
It was caused by the idiotic programmers at Yahoo, deciding to somehow implement their Slurp spider so that it indexes Gateworld's forums 800 times over.
Right now, Yahoo's bot system is jeapordising the whole ability of GW to be able to afford the current cluster, and future accesibility of the forums by guests.
Our server is currently under enormous strain due to facilitating close to 30,000 requests/second from Yahoo search engine crawlers.Comment
