yeah, but why go to all that trouble to seed the universe with gates if you're not gonna use them?
The seeding project was supposedly abandoned when the Ancients decided to look into Ascension.
Perhaps it was too much hassle to stop the progress of what I think has been called an automated experiment and perhaps the Ancients thought other advanced civilizations could use the gates.
I think we need to get back on the topic of the city ships, perhaps we'll see some featured in future Atlantis or SG1 stories.
probably. still, if someone didn't like the idea of abandoning their corporial body, maybe there are some ancients with super cityships in some distant galaxy. 30 km across

seems kinda unessesary, don't u think? if there were any, they should all be in the atlantis "adressbook". they were probably used to settle in other galaxies. we can't be sure that the lanteans were the only ones to emigrate from MW either.

How come the ancients went through all that trubble to protect and hide atlantis, but let the cityship from "the tower" decay completley, if those were the only two? and it does seem kinda unlikey that we have been exploring the galaxy for 5 years and only have been able to find these two ships if there were more... and shouldn't there be some left i MW? atlantis is suposed to be the greatest technological achevement of the ancients, so if there are two, there should be more.
Who's to say they didn't lose contact with the tower earlier in the war? they may have thought it destroyed or captured, and didn't take any protective measures
still, if it's so important that the wraith doesn't get their hands on the ancient tech, wouldn't they want to make sure it was properly destroyed?
maybe the lanteans there never left - they stayed and lived with the humans there, and over 10 000 years their blood became so thin that the ATA gene almost completley had disapered, along with their technological prowess. they did similar things with the existing civilasations at earth when they got back here.

but they have been "keeping a close eye" on the tauri, whose to say if they introduced the gene from their archives. They were in an aliance with the lantean race so may well have had their dna on record.
that is possible, but since we are the second branch of our race, it's more likely that we inherited (that can't be spelled right) it from the ancients.
