in simple terms, color it

reverse surfaces turns a blue surface white.. the inner parts ae meant to be blue/purpleish and the outside white

you can change that... i generally just select all and then color it grey or so.

can you show a real close up of your engine?

my problem is; is that my comp hates colouring in sketchup, it often simply does not do it or atleast not the surfaces that I want to have coloured or textured

just do ctrl-A and then paint a part
