i'm not saying they created them deliberately but that the Ancients were experimenting with the iratus bug and that is how the wraith were formed.

Maybe the pilot was too badly injured to be healed simply through mental powers. Although tbh I've been less than impressed with Ancient medical technology. They don't actually have anything there.

We know they had devices able to bring the dead to life millions of years ago on Earth, so they should easily be able to deal with anything medical wise. Just another way they've be dumbed down.

Maybe the truth goes something like this -

A Lantean geneticist was ditched by her boyfriend for another women so she killed them in revenge. She then fled the city and decided to create an army of super warriors for her own protection because the Lantean police were after her. She fed Iratus bugs on humans just before they were due to lay eggs (the bugs that is, not the humans) and then manipulated the human DNA in the bug embryos to produce Wraith. She also created a refined version of Beckett's first retrovirus which turned her into the first Wraith Queen.

Something like the above would be a truly original alternate explanation for the emergence of the Wraith as a species and save the Lanteans from the embarrassment of having yet another disaster added to a list which already includes an exploding tumour machine.

or maybe it was the type of radiation that is why they couldn't heal that might be a good reason and it would make them look more advanced that they could heal but couldn't if there was like gamma or zeon radiation or something like that

the ancients may have been trying to create a companion species or maybe even a race of guardians

the feeding process may have been intended to be used on animals but mistakes were made making humans the only thing they could feed on

Or maybe the Ancients were planning to create Asurans but had no enemy to make them against and so the created the Wraith and made the wraith kick their ass, so that Oberoth had a challange, but he trusted people to much so the Ancients attack and nearly destroyed the Asurans, to teach them betray, and then the Asurans reach puberty and sat on their asses for ten thousand years.
