About ancient shields, well has anyone considered the possibility that the current ones we're using (Asgard upgraded) are better than ancient shields so there's no point. Now if you mean Atlantis type shields, well we haven't built something as big as Atlantis with several shield generators powered by a ZPM yet.

We know that that matter streams can go through matter, but it seems that the ice layer was incredibly thick.
