Thats if the 'EM field' could be generated while the shield is up. All it takes is a couple of hits to get through while are shields are down and we'd have possibly a disabled Hive which would be operation pretty quickly I'd imagine and one seriously dead Earth battle cruiser.
Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

well if we are able to produce that field and it runs separately from the other systems and our shields fail, which often happens, we pretty much screwed our selves.

You know we've had threads on why there isn't cloaks on nukes and stuff like that, but has someone really ever asked why not let modify a jumper to fire a nuke close to the hive, and retreating after? at max speed the jumper can escape the EMP, and its pretty hard to hit something that just disappeared.
Their white flags are no match to our guns!!

How about a real nuke to burn the dart screen away followed by another dozen or so real nukes a second later.

Exactly! We know that ancient tech is impervious to EM, and wraith tech being organic may be as well.

It was only the magnetospheric contribution to the EM field that made it effect lantean/wraith tech.

Exactly. EM pulses only have an effect on electronic things. For example an EM pulse was able to disable the nanites that infected Weir, but had no effect on any of her organic tissues. Since Wraith technology is primarily organic in nature an EM pulse could have a reduced effect, or no effect at all.

                Makes sense.
