Orion - three character on side

I noticed that on the orion it has three characters.

U3X or F3X
U3X or F3X

anyone have any idea why this could be?

ship class, like the daedalus is a 304 (BC or DSC), the promethues is BC-303/X-303, and F-302 are F-302's

Cool, didnt notice that, it does indeed make sense for it to be a ship class description, would have been nice if we could have seen the numbers on the Tria and Aurora aswell.

In the case of the Aurora, it might not have been possible, since a part of the ship where that marking was located was pretty much trashed.

It could be the regisry of the ship. (Prometheous was 01 daedalus is 02...e.c.t.)

Yeah, its written in Ancient.

It is written in ancient and in ancient that means U3X or F3X (the first sign can mean either U or F).
