If you think it may once have been real your missing the point. The entire point of that episode was to show Daniel that NOBODY could know the collective knowledge of the Goa'uld without going mad for power. Why would he teach Daniel this by putting into his head the understanding to build something that could completely destroy a Goa'uld Ha'tak with relative ease?
That would pretty much negate the lesson. Its not "you must be a good person and not use this power for evil", its, "The only way to win is to deny it battle". In other words Daniel CAN'T know anything real because that WOULDN'T be denying it battle.
