Next class of Earth starship ,smaller or bigger than 304?and "Nightwalkers" ship

If we enhance an Al'kesh with some better shields, and make sure each and every one has got a cloak we can kill hives. The bombs it caries we can enhance or replace.

Then all it'll need its to get there. Enter the same hyperspace window the 304 uses and we can transport alkesh there too. Instead of 1 staff canon turret, make it two or three. Then in pegasus, an alkesh goes to fight the wraith, opens a hyperspace window, a squadron of 302s enter it too and you have the protection for the alkesh, plus that small ship can easily outmanoeuvre wraith hive weaponsfire

We've definitely got the tech to do this now.
Gunships and other smaller ship designs that can be built in a fraction of the time it takes to make a 304 are a great idea, hell make the Gunships just interplanetary hyperdrive capable, build a small frame like ship that has an intergalactic drive, takes say 8 or so smaller craft to just in reachable range of the Pegasus Galaxy then if one of these Gunships gets captured on a mission the Wraith don't get their hands on a way to get to Earth.

Gunships would make for perfect support craft for 304s as well.

To get a decent fleet going i'd say we need to develop/build the following:

A large Fighter Carrier
A couple more Battle Cruisers
Some dedicated Heavy Gunships
A good few average Escort Ships
A large number of High Speed Interceptors
A dozen or so Orbital Assault Bombers
And a versatile range of dedicated fighters

I'd say for the 305 (or whatever they want to call it) the Interceptor would be the best place to start.

what we need is to perfect the airborne laser thats currently being mounted on a boeing, take it, rip off the CIWS of a deadalus class and replace it with laser arrays. then, obviously search the Core for some better powersource, replace the hangars with reactors.

what we can do? hive attacks with darts. within roughly 10 seconds all will be blown up and then the missiles can finish the hive.


scratch that, what we need is a 300m missile cruiser with said laser array.

I'm pretty sure the government can manage to build huge ships comparative to other races without people noticing, during the Manhattan Project they built several hidden cities without anybody noticing, so I'm sure they could do a mothership without any trouble.

As fragile as darts are (we've seen them crippled by p90s), just install Dillon 7.62mm gatlins tied into a zone area denial fire control system like every modern navy has. Array of 50 of these with a 3D fire control system could clear 20 miles of space around the ship in about 10 seconds. A laser array has nothing on a dillon gatlin gun.

Install about 20 of the GAU-8 goalkeepers for hitting critical points using a preprogrammed hive firing computer (soft spots loaded in). The 30mm bullets are large enough to carry a K-Naq payload. One of these guns (with regular rounds) could dig a hole in a mountain and it's scary to thinks of what one could do to a space (or naval vessel) with explosive ammo. Something like a properly shielded/cloaked alkesh with 3 GAU8 gatlins facing in line forward and 1 backwards and a goal keeper top and bottom would be quite the ship.

How about this.....

Take a DSC-304 and take the flight deck/thruster pods off, maybe take the tabletop off the rear. Then shorten the neck of the ship. take the flight decks out the thruster pods and then re-install the thruster pods vertically, maybe lose a thruster or two.....finally, take the table top and shorten it, before placing it back on the finished ship.

Personally i think that would be a good cruiser.

I know I would like it to be a battle ship but that is unlikely do the the size and because the 304 works just fine, I mean a 304 can kill a hive in three shots, and can porbably take out a gould mothership in one, what we should be working on is reverse enginering the ori ship buster cannon, and drones and then retrofiting them to are 304s.

The 304s were designed by incorporating the most advanced tech of the time into the 303s systems were they not. I believe it was quoted (likely by McKay) that the Deadalus (ie. 304s) had the advanced tech built into it from the start rather than being tacked on afterwards as was the case with the Promethius (ie. 303s).
