Entering hyperspace in reverse

I would have thought that you can enter hyperspace, but the transmitters or whatever it is that opens the window probably only point to the front of the ship, therefore we're never going to see it happen.

True enough. Although if a ship could open a hyperspace window in any direction, then I suppose a ship could enter hyperspace 'in reverse' (backwards), assuming of course the ship actually has a front or back. It's really a question of engineering, certainly not physics. Of course it can be done, but why bother? It would be rare that you might need such a thing.

You could open the HS window and go backwards thru it, but you'd only go as fast as your reverse thrusters could take you.

Anybody wonder what would if you went into hyperspace backwards?

HyperSpace is always there, so if you went in backwards, u'd simply be going what ever way you were going to go, but backwards.. its like Walking Backwards... its not going to make a diffrence, because HyperSpace is ALWAYS there its not a wormhole...
