          These devices are completely human built and used by the SGC for remote data gathering.

          M.A.L.P. ... The Mobile All-terrain Labratory Platform. It is a probe that is sent through the gate to find out if a planet is safe to go to. It is capable of sending visual, auditory, and various other sensor telemetry back through the stargate. It is capable of detecting if there is a breathable atmosphere, measuring different types of radiation, and it also has a robotic arm to handle objects from the safety of the SGC.

          U.A.V. ... The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. It is an arial probe that is similiar to the M.A.L.P., except it has a much further range. It is used for longer distance probing of areas around the stargate. It can be used for detecting hostile forces, rescue searches, and gaining information about dangerous territory. It can also be modified into a U.C.A.V. for combat duties, by adding small missiles that can strike targets from the air.
