    You would have to make a miniseries AFTER the show was over just to wrap up the whole universe. Making the Stargate program public would require it's own series, like a political drama Or the offworld action would slow to a halt because of all the filibustering and buearacracy trash and what-not. It would be like filling the show with Weirs and Kinseys. Good characters, but overkill.

      I personally think that revealing the StarGate would be about as exciting as the F-117 being revealed for the first time to the general public.

      Besides, I see the possiblity of the Daedalous ships being revealed to the public more than the SGC. Think about it.... SGC is covert like the NSA/CIA, whereas Earth's fleet is like the Navy, big and overt and where everyone can see the technology of earth.

      Just get: EU, Russia, China (especially China), Japan, India, and other countries along to build the ships and we'll be churning out dozens of ships or maybe even develop Destroyer and Carrier class starships with the resources and man power of other nations along with the US.

      After the world is comfortable with the fact that we've achieved interstellar travel, then maybe the works of the SGC and SG-1 can be revealed to the public.

      Afterall the StarGate is humanity's "gate to the stars" as it's the thing that has brought us into the spacefaring age of mankind, more so than the rockets/space shuttle. Those were peepholes compared to the doorway that the StarGate is.

        You may be on to something there, PeoplesGeneral. It's probably a good ideea to reveal the whole program step by step and when everybody is confortable with the fact that interplanetary and interstelar flight is a reality they just hit them with the last one: Oh...By the way... We have a stargate and aliens do exists...

          And on-topic, the show could probably never handle adequately the public revelation of the Stargate. But it should happen in the last episode, and we see SG-1 finally get public recognition for what they've done.
