A fighter that can go through the gate and be strike ready on the other side has been needed for a long time,perhap a f-302 variant that has retractable wings. Earth SERIOUSLY needs to start building destroyers for fire support for the capital ships. In every engagment Tauri ships are either being saturated with fire[siege3, Hive] or swarmed by fighters or bombers[Lost City,Prometheus Unbound] they need destroyers to draw fire so those damn slow ass missiles can reach their target...

i don't see a reason why they need a new fighter the f302 is fine and has proved it can hold its own against the deathgliders so i think that them spending time and money on a new model would be a waste. they should spend it on making an alkesh size bomber.

The next fighter will probably be an upgraded F-302 with intertial engines and a turreted energy(or railgun) weapon underneath(See Space: Above and Beyond)

And while the Daedalus is a fine all-purpose vessel a more combat oriented escort could have a much smaller crew(and all that follows) no useless hangar space, no fighters. All this allowing for either a smaller size, or more weapons, or a combination of the two. Also remove the useless ICBM-style nukes and either rely on transporting the nukes, or design small nukes with intertial engines(picture a Death Glider without the wings and cockpit)

yes thats a death glider...the wraith dart and the orii fighters are a whole other ball game, on of the fighters destory a hatak!

exactly is one peice of a supergate can destroy a hatak, imagine what a fighter could do, what could a MS...were in for one heck of a ride, and we needsome major advancedment if we stand a chance...energy weapon is the main thing we need, and i hope the asgard give us it once they realise just how badly we shall be without one.
