Okay... looks like some people don't seem to understand.. but these suits are PLANNED AND SCHEDULED to be used my United States infantry around 2010. You know thats where all of our tax dollars are going to. The US military concerns itself more with high tech and quality, as opposed to low or medium tech with quantity.

I mean, think about it. When these "future warrior" stuff comes out and is used by say... Special Ops forces, they'd be very similar to the Super-Soldiers in StarGate and wipe the floor with enemy ground troops. Albeit it won't protect against RPGs they way the Kull Warrior armored suits can protect against land mines and etc.

-puts on flame proof vest- Why spend money on war equipment, when we could be using it on medicine? And The space program?? Or *Prepares for the cliche* Solving world hunger! *shudders* I suddenly have a fine layer of filth around me...no....NO....NOOO!....

Well, this is a mighty fine idea it is. And, lol Robocop in the flesh (Although, I've only seen what robocop looked like, never actually saw the movie and/or series)
I'd like to see if that armor will be Zat-Proof, nothin' but the Kull warrior seems to be Zat proof...(Shields excluded...and Aris Bochs uniform! )
Edit: The helmet for that guy in the robocop outfit, looks really fogged up, I hope they fix that...

Stargate Gateworld RPG. All are welcome!|Jim Andersons Bio.

Government sponsered health care? There's no money to be made.

Government sponsered space program? High risk, long term investments are not a favorable business practice.

Free food for everybody? Well, I suppose we can dream.

There cure for world hunger is teleportation, and it's about the only cure. When we have the ability to teleport a big mac into the stomach of every third world child, then we'll be able to solve world hunger (though world obesity levels will sharply increase as well). Until then, we don't have the means to distribute all the food that is produced to where it is needed, and make sure it gets to the people who need it.

The only way to solve world hunger now is by spending money on military forces (to get food where it needs to go), education (to teach people how to manage their populations), and infrastructure investment (to give those people jobs so they can make money to eventually wean them off our government teat).

We're doing all of this now; everybody thinks it should be done, they just disagree on how it should be executed.

As for the original question: When will we see this in the StarGate universe?

I'd say we won't see it until >2010. You ever notice how our heroes all use standard military weapons and equipment? That suit will never be standard military issue, at least not for a few decades (when its cost comes down). Until then, they'll continue to use standard military weapons and equipment, simply because the series are supposed to take place now, in current times.

          1. As a StarGate discussion grows longer, the probability of someone mentioning the Furlings approaches one.

Now that i think about it, those suits would be a good combat protection from Wraith feeding..having full body armored covering would stop the hand thingy.Although, it would make the show seem to much like Halo[like it doesn't already]..

No, but they are made to function in extreme conditions, where regular toilets would screw up.

I think some of you guys need to stop thinking everything is Hollywood science fiction. Go into these websites and see that these US soldier armor is not a hoax. Im a military buff, and I love keeping track of developments in any country's military advancements.

If that still does not convince you... wait until 2010 or 2012 then sign up with either the USMC, Navy, Air Force (and be like SG-1!), or the Army. Maybe you'll get to suit up in those nifty new US super-soldier outfits and blast terrorists using the M-8 or OICW advanced assault rifles.
