The Goa'uld haven't faced a major threat until they met the Tau'ri, but each Goa'uld believe they are gods at this point believing they were all-powerful. Their pride wouldn't have allowed them to change anything, or they would have taken an ego boost themselves. Besides when the Tau'ri eliminated another Goa'uld, another one would laugh assuming that Goa'uld was weak anyway and deserved to die then assuming he/she could handle it. It is more of a pride thing.

Anubis, Ba'al, and so forth all have shown their abilities to create new tech... Why don't any of the gliders or any other ships seem to show improvement? There's no reason to upgrade them, gliders are barely used in battle since a mothership can take them all down. There does not seem to be very many battles fought in space excpet between Goa'uld to Goa'uld, but that just comes down to the power of the motherships. The gliders are probably not fitted with any automatic sequences in the event it is stolen and be used against the system lord. Apophus had a device to have the X-202 return when taken or downed... They feared that an uprising could confiscate these weapons and use it against them if they were not in their mothership at the time.

The Gliders are too weak to spend time upgrading. Either you can dominate a primitive race using gliders, or they have shields and it won't matter how many gliders you have, since they have low firepower and no shields. Therefore it's better to divert all resources in Ha'tak upgrades, and minor Al'kesh ones. The Al'kesh seems to be quite powerful, and it got turreted weapons

I agree with the previous post, also I believe that the Goa'uld need to spend more time devolping completly new weapons, seeing as there weapons aren't effective anymore. If they come at us with something that we have never seen before, they have a good chance of beating us. Also they need to find a vaccine for that Goa'uld killing drug.

What's with the way the cannons are mounted on the gliders anyway? I realise they're made for terrorizing, but wouldn't it be much better to have cannons that can fire to an angle between them both rather than straight ahead? All it would take would be a slight adjustment. The way they're set up now mean the blasts usually hit either side of their target.

That is because most of the time they just want to scare the enemy, by shooting around them, if they killed them, then they wouldn't be able to be scared. It is one of the finer points of thier technology that they have not updated since they assesed us as a threat.

Now that the Goa'uld are in hiding and likely to be deploying smaller forces it would be nice if they'd get better weapons next season. They no longer have legions of Jaffa armed with a crappy arsenal and meant to overwhelm their enemy with numbers. I'd like to see what kind of equipment could be made with technology as advanced as theirs.

              No hesitating
We only got 4 minutes, huh 4 minutes..."

System Lords like to dance too .

That would be a nice turn in the storyline.
