      Actually you would be suprised how plausible the science behind the gate is, the event horizons are just scanners, sheddreds, and printers, worholes are possible, as long as every cell is rematerialized in the exact spot that it was dematerialized, it will work. I disagree with the point that you would need naquadah to make a stargate, instead of a dhd you can use a computer, and the gate would just have to be a superconductor, that can create a worhole and the event horizons. The gate is actually a relativly simply piece of technology. The only difficult part of the gate is the creation of the worhole, but overall the gate is relativly simple.
