But from what I read on the transcript, it's like a joke to make fun of Stargate fan's ... not sure if that's a good publicity for the fans ....
Reading that, I thought he was really calling Mark Stern, but that's a joke and I think a really bad joke ....
Now, I haven't watched that video, so maybe I've missed something.
No, it was a joke, but I don't think it was meant to knock the fans so much as to needle SciFi and NBC. I personally thought it was cute, but was a tad disappointed in John Lovitz....his timing was completely off.
    On fighting:
Farrah: "A swordsman does not fear death, if he dies with honor."
Dr. Who: "Then he's an idiot."

I'm glad to see some high up people getting the word out there about SG-1.

A very wise man once said...."Reality is an illusion created by a lack of Alcohol."

It was very obvious in the skit that Lovitz was not making a real phone call, (except to the people who think that slapping the dialpad with the palm of your hand magically dials a real number).

The skit *is* a joke. It's satire. Satire has long been used to make salient points. The skit is a satire that uses tongue-in-cheek humor to needle NBC and thereby make a salient point.

As far as links to videos, click on "Videos" at this URL:

There are a few different videos under there. One is the sketch on Conan.

I actually wondered if he was a tad tipsy but then thought it was just me...

Thanks. Watching that instead of reading it makes more sense!

Remember that saying from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan? "Humor is a difficult concept?" (Saavik to Kirk)

It's even more so, when you're reading a transcription of a skit, and in another language.

I don't always get British humor, and we're sort of, kind of, speaking the same language!
