Casting news for Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas

ABC has cast some familiar television faces in an ambitious family-oriented pilot called Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas. The West Wing's Janel Moloney (yes, she's done other stuff, too, but to me she's still Donna) and Patrick Breen (who's been on lots of shows like Eli Stone and The West Wing, too), will play the adopted parents of Gwen Malloy, the star of Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas. Jodelle Ferland, a 13-year-old veteran has landed the Gwen role, and the show will revolve around her. Ferland is a vet, having appeared in features like Tideland, a Terry Gilliam film, Dark Angel and The Collector. On TV, she was in Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital. [Jodelle also appeared in Stargate SG-1's "Flesh and Blood," and Stargate Atlantis' "Harmony."]

does indeed appear on NBC's EXTRA! At about the 11 after the hour mark. Short segment. Never taken acting lessons, but has a Bachelor's (er, think that was it) in business admin. Bikini shots. Mercury car ads. So, nothing too much. Gotta go. T-storms!

She has a degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing from North Carolina State University. Thanks for the info!!!

Holy Armageddon, it's Batman! (NEW ZEALAND)

The original Batman and the guy who plays the Silver Surfer in The Fantastic Four are among the guests visiting as part of the Pulp Armageddon Expo during Labour Weekend at the Aotea Centre.

The annual expo brings together all the best in gaming, sci-fi, comics and technology over one long weekend.

Other guests include actors Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG1), David Anders (Adam Munroe/Takezo Kensei in Heroes and Julian Sark in Alias); and Stargate Atlantis stars David Hewlett and Andee Frizzell; then there's comics legend Jim Lee, animation great Crispin Freeman, and Dragonball Z star, Sean Schemmel.

But wait, there's more, in the form of Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson, who played the role of Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters movies series.

Married With Children Star Enters Into Three Film Deal With Red Rock Pictures

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Rock Pictures Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:RRPH), a film and entertainment marketing company, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Los Angeles based F.N.B. Entertainment to develop and produce three feature films. F.N.B. Entertainment is the production company owned by well known television actors David Faustino and Corin Nemec, along with managing partner, Todd Bringewatt.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work so closely with David and Corin,” said Red Rock Chief Executive Officer, Reno R. Rolle. “These incredibly recognizable and talented guys have a great chance of emerging as the Laurel and Hardy comedy team of our generation.”

David Faustino starred as “Bud Bundy” along with Christina Applegate, Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill, in the television sitcom Married With Children. Now in syndication, Married With Children is the second longest running show in FOX history behind The Simpsons. Corin Nemec starred as the lead in another hit FOX show, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, which ran for three seasons in the nineties. Each of the films’ scripts is being co-developed by Red Rock Pictures and F.N.B. The first project is slated to commence in the fall of this year, and will be directed by Sam Kass, best known for his long running role as writer, producer and director on NBC’s Seinfeld.

Loring's characters Mooch (Ben Cardinal), Floyd (Billy Merasty) and June (Margo Kane) are all survivors of the ill-conceived roundup of First Nations children. Well, they're still alive and living on the Kumsheen reserve. That's about all that can be said of Mooch and Floyd. June has, with great effort, turned her life around.

When Floyd's daughter Christine (Quelemia Sparrow), whom he abandoned when she was small, turns up in Lytton, all of Floyd's pain and anger surface--much of it in the bar of the Lytton Hotel where George (Tom McBeath) dispenses beer.
