      JR BOURNE (SG1)

      September 4, 2006
      Toronto International Film Festival 2006

      Canada First! Film Diary
      Everything's Gone Green
      by James Careless

      Director: Paul Fox
      Writer: Douglas Coupland
Producers: Chris Nanos, Elizabeth Yake, Henrik Meyer
Cast: Paulo Costanzo, Steph Song, JR Bourne
      Distributor: ThinkFilm

It's a first for iconic Canuck author Douglas Coupland (Generation X: Tales
for an Accelerated Culture) - a film based on a story he wrote specifically for
      the screen.

So did Coupland write his first screenplay for art's sake, or just for the
money? That's a question that would haunt Ryan (Paulo Costanzo), Coupland's
aging slacker protagonist in Everything's Gone Green.

According to Coupland, "Everything's Gone Green is about when you get older
and you feel certain doors closing very quickly on you. It deals with that
      feeling of 'now or never.'"

Certainly this is the kind of dilemma facing Ryan. As youth slips away, he is
left wondering if he can maintain his slacker - but morally upright - ways,
when everyone around him - his older brother Bryce (JR Bourne), his father (Tom Butler), and even Ming Yu (Steph Song), the woman he loves - is obsessed with making money any way they can.

        GARRY CHAULK (SG1)

        http://www.playbackmag.com/articles/...?word=stargate

Director Anne Wheeler is at the helm of The Competition, a holiday comedy currently shooting in B.C. for Lifetime Television. Coproduced by Vancouver's Legacy Filmworks and L.A.-based Nasser Productions, the MOW is about a community gone wild in a yuletide house-decorating competition after a local store owner orders 6,000 cases of Christmas lights instead of 60. Legacy's Deboragh Gabler (The Accidental Witness) is producing, with Jack Nasser (The Suspect) as executive producer. Richard Leder (Amber's Story) penned the script.Wheeler, who recently returned from South Africa where she was shooting episodes of the new CBC drama Jozi-H, says she had planned to use the summer to work on her own material, but the opportunity to work with Gabler on the bittersweet script - which deals with both community silliness and the serious issue of a man's descent into Alzheimer's disease - won her over. The cast includes Kristen Dalton (The Dead Zone), GARY CHAULK (Stargate SG-1), Robert Moloney (Godiva's) and Tom Heaton (Slither).

I think I'm the only person who checks for Teryl Rothery appearances.

Tonight, Monday, 04 Sep, Teryl Rothery is in not one but TWO television movies!

Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Diff'rent Strokes (2006). NBC, 8:00 pm (EDT/PDT). TR portrays Dana Plato's mother.

Amber's Story (2006). LIFETIME, 9:00 pm (EDT/PDT). The kidnapping of two girls leads to the implementation of the Amber Alert system for tracking missing children. TR portrays one of two mothers who each had a child abducted.

            www.groups.yahoo.com/group/teryl_appearances

And, The Different Strokes film has more SG1 alumni:

Not sure what you mean. We're talking about Teryl, not GW.

For fans who don't want to have to visit a site every day in the hopes of getting news, they can sign up for a mailing list that sends them emails whenever Teryl does something. Makes sense for the busy fans.

Maybe you were, but I was not. I was talking about notices of TR's appearances being posted on GW. Why would I be commenting about the entire 'universe', so to speak? Were I to go by this thread (excepting my own posts), I'd think TR -- alone among all the past and current regulars and guests -- barely worked at all. That's all I was saying.

Everything's Gone Green, a satirical cinematic take on left-coast life penned by Vancouver novelist Douglas Coupland, will open the Vancouver International Film Festival's Canadian Images program. In Coupland's vision of Vancouver, downsized empty-nesters turn to grow-ops, and golf-course designers launder Asian gang money, as suburban neighbourhoods pretend to be Phoenix or L.A. for the American movie industry with the help of a roving palm tree.A Vancouver cast, including JR Bourne, Steph Song and Peter Kelamis join star Paulo Costanzo and director Paul Fox. The movie leads off the festival's lineup of 110 Canadian films chosen from 600 submissions. The festival screens more than 300 films from around the world, and earlier announced that Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's small-town drama Volver, starring Penelope Cruz, will open the festival.

                          CORIN NEMEC
Three Moons Over Milford, Sunday 10th September, 8pm/9pm ET/PT.

                          http://www.abcfamilynet.com/

When Mack's high school wrestling rival Roarke Monaghan (guest star Corin Nemec "Stargate SG-1") returns to Milford as a successful, high profile lawyer, Mack takes him on in a re-match to finally set the record straight in "Wrestlemoonia," an all-new episode of ABC Family's original series THREE MOONS OVER MILFORD Sunday, Sept. 10 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).

Mack's school nemesis Roarke Monaghan (Corin Nemec) shows up unexpectedly in Milford, complete with his yellow Ferrari. By winning the wrestling championship their senior year, Roarke landed a scholarship to Yale and a big league legal career – one that Mack believes was meant for him. Now Mack wants to have a re-match to set the record straight, especially after Roarke starts making moves on Laura and Sarah Louise. Meanwhile, Alex decides to quit school and begins working for Michelle Graybar.

Wrestling and sci-fi? Surely it's on the wrong channel.

Haven't done this list in a long time, thought I'd give it another try.

This is for just SG1, I'll do SGA soon.
