ACTOR: CRAIG VERONI (Grodin from SGA)

      http://www.nowplayingmag.com/content/view/4350/

IN an article from the TIMELESS DESTINATION convention

      Excerpt:

But shooting in the hospital affords some amazing detail. The exterior could pass for a hospital, a school or even a prison. Some of the walls are replete with the obligatory pea green institutional paint, chipping away in the crevices between concrete bricks. The chamber they used for the electric chair scene had a great natural echo, and an inherent dank, dense quality that makes you want to get out of there the second you got in.

Another genre actor, Craig Veroni (Stargate Atlantis, Smallville, Tru Calling, Dark Angel) also sent in some reinforcements for a kidnapping scene in the film — his six month old son.

There’s a scene on a bus where Seed, the killer, is supposed to grab the baby, so they used Craig’s son for that scene. But he hasn’t earned his stuntman union card yet.

“For the dangerous scenes, they of course, substituted a doll,” Veroni said.

              Excerpt:

Showcase Theatre Festival 2006 is well worth the ticket. In this, the second season for the festival, artistic director Jeff Hyslop has pulled together Shakespeare’s classic play The Taming of the Shrew and the fun-filled Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate. The shows, shown consecutively over two evenings, offer audiences a chance to relish in classic theatre and/or a rip-roaring musical. Although seeing both shows is not necessary, as they stand well on their own, seeing the Shrew first does offer better insight to Kiss Me, Kate. Both shows are complete with bawdy sexual tension, tasteful and hilarious. In Shrew the story revolves around the sweet young Bianca (Alex Wharram), who cannot be married until her fiery sister Katerina (Teryl Rothery of Stargate SG-1 fame) has walked down the aisle as per their father’s wishes

ACTOR: Sean Patrick Flannery (Orlin - SG1)
Movie: SAVAGE PLANET (August 12th on Scifi)

                http://www.ugo.com/channels/FilmTv/a...rticleID=19561

Sort of like The Edge (that bear movie with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin) meets Stargate, Savage Planet gives big points for originality, even if the execution leaves a little something to be desired. The year is 2068 and the world has gone to hell with hundreds dying every day and nuclear wars raging as the entire continent of Africa has to be quarantined. The state of the world leads a group of scientists and soldiers to try to colonize another planet by using "deep space teleportation." Led by Sean Patrick Flanery, the team zaps there, finds out the hard way about the failed, bear-eaten team that zapped there before and tries to get the magic goo and zap back before they're eaten or worse.

Boy Scout Organizes Blood Drive In Danville To Get His Eagle Wings'

BY JACOB L. GRANT, Staff Writer
                  Saturday August 12, 2006

DANVILLE -- When Dave Carmichael, a representative from the American Red Cross, got a call from 17-year-old Jonathan Bergman about having a blood drive in Danville, he didn't exactly jump at the opportunity.

Carmichael said the Red Cross gets a lot of calls from people who want to put on a blood drive, but haven't really thought it through. Unfortunately, Carmichael said, a lot of the people who call never act on their impulses.

So it was no surprise that, while on the phone with Bergman earlier this spring, Carmichael put the teenager through the wringer.

"I was hoping he'd give me the answers I wanted to hear in terms of his tenacity and his ability to organize," said Carmichael.

And that's just what Bergman did.

"He had the right answers," Carmichael said.

                  **snippage**

Many world-renowned role models were Scouts, he said, including, Richard Dean Anderson, aka MacGyver, astronaut Neil Armstrong, Olympic Gold Medal swimmer Mark Spitz, President George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, John F. Kennedy, actor Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, Bill Gates, Michael Jordan, LL Cool J, Paul McCartney and dozens of others.

Twenty-six of the first 29 astronauts were Scouts, he said. Also, about 85 percent of FBI agents were Scouts at one point in their lives and about 64 percent of Air Force Academy graduates were Scouts.

SG1 - RDA web site updated Aug. 23rd:

From a Richard Dean Anderson Web Site update:

The news has spread pretty quickly around the internet by now, but it
is also added on my site - on Monday the SciFi channel announced that it would not be renewing Stargate SG-1 beyond the current season 10.

RDA was among the people forwarding the news, and in his latest message he also mentioned the special issue of the "Hollywood Reporter" magazine which celebrates SG-1's 200 episodes. RDA had taken out an ad of thanks and congratulations, and his ad is now included on the site with his message. He also talks about what he and Wylie have been up to.

In addition, I have made some updates and additions to the Stargate
Episode Guide, and to the Store, which now includes new items for preorder including: MacGyver season 7 DVDs, Stargate season 9 DVDs, and the book "Stargate SG-1 Ultimate Visual Guide".

As always, the direct links are on the What's New page.

                            Thanks for visiting!
