Ben Browder was at a Furman football game over the weekend and was interviewed by the sideline reporter. Here's what someone saw and reported on another board:
I'm watching the Furman game on CSS right now and it's halftime. And guess who is there at the game?!?!? BEN!!!!!!!! It was sorta surprising because Furman is not playing at home, but the game in Cullowhee, North Carolina, may actually be closer to Ben's family roots than if the game were being played in South Carolina.
Anyway, the sideline reporter interviewed him down on the field and talked about his playing days at Furman. The guy interviewing him must not be a sci-fi fan because even though he mentioned Ben was famous for most recently being on Stargate SG-1, he said he was most famous for being on Party of Five. Ben seemed genuinely surprised that the guy went for that show and grinned and chuckled a bit. Then he tactfully stated that he was probably best known for Stargate and "a show called Farscape I did before that." He was cute when he said that he was best known at "my house for being the guy who cooks the best barbecue."
He was his usual Southern gentleman self, and when the reporter mentioned that Ben and his son were there at the game (don't know if the rest of the family is there or not), Ben said that they had gotten out of L.A. for the holidays to see family and take in some good Southern football.
Keep an eye out on ABC's "Women's Murder Network" on Fridays at 9pm for his guest role.

The really exciting thing was casting the lead role of ‘Paul’ – Keith’s role. Craig and I had not spoken about it at all. Avoided it even. Sub-consciously we were both scared of giving that role away to someone who wasn’t Keith – but it’s not like there was an option if we were to move forward. First person on day one Maureen Webb brought in David Nykl. I had seen him in a stage-play a few years back. I knew that he’d been doing well for himself on Stargate Atlantis, but had never seen him on screen. He owned the role. It was nothing like what Keith would have done. It was exactly what we needed – a strong audition that shook us out of our pre-conceptions. Casting that role could have been a painful experience, but David saved us from that. We dutifully considered the other guys who came in, but David made it easy on us.

I couldn't see the episode because of that stupid X-Mas Parade that was airing at the time. I plan on watching on CBS.com in the coming days.
