                Peter Wingfield

                http://www.latimes.com/features/home...,2973319.story

                Dec 13 2008

Methos, the oldest living Immortal (in "Highlander: The Series" for those
whose viewing tastes are insufficiently celestial), hopes that a lower price
                will
                help sell his earthly residence.

Actor Peter Wingfield recently reduced the price of his Studio City home to
$2,699,000 from $2,995,000. The traditional-style home has six bedrooms and 4
1/2 bathrooms in 5,473 square feet.

The house has an office with a separate entrance, and a maid's room with full
bath. The media, living and dining rooms are defined by German NanaWall doors
-- glass folding doors -- and the kitchen has a gourmet cooking island and
                stainless-steel appliances.

There is a fireplace in the master bedroom suite, which also includes a spa
bath and a steam shower. The landscaped grounds include a saltwater pool and
                spa.

Wingfield has played the 5,000-year-old Methos in the "Highlander" TV series
(1995-98) and in the movies "Highlander: The Source" (2007) and "Highlander:
Endgame" (2000). He also appeared in the feature films "X2: X-Men United"
(2003) and "Edge of Madness" (2002).

More recently, from 2006 through this year, he played surgical consultant Dan
Clifford in the BBC medical drama "Holby City." He had a recurring role on
the Fox TV series " 24."

Moe Abourched of ReMax OTB Estates has the listing, the MLS shows.

Is ‘Waverly Place’ the next ‘Hannah Montana’?

Wizards and magic and mayhem – yes, please!

Wizards of Waverly Place is full of magic, portals, cauldrons and potions. The Disney Channel show (airing on Family Channel in Canada) centres on a not-so-typical New York City family. By “not-so-typical,” what I really mean is the kids possess magical powers.

But, here’s the catch: These wizards aren’t allowed to use magic whenever they please, and when they get older the three will have a magic competition in which two of the lil’ wizards will lose their talents.

Alex (Selena Gomez), Justin (David Henrie) and Max Russo (Jake T. Austin) are siblings who inherited their magical gifts from their dad Jerry, played by David DeLuise. Their loveable pop helps hone their magic skills in the Magic Lair, as long as they don’t use them in public or without supervision. Right, like that would happen.

The show is in its second season, has scored high ratings and has a huge fan base – much like Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana. The show was actually created by a former Hannah Montana writer, Todd J. Greenwald.

Although it’s a children’s series, parents enjoy Wizards of Waverly Place too. I had a chance to talk with the show’s TV dad (who has two daughters in real life) while he took a break from watching the filming of an episode.

DeLuise is prepping to direct an episode at the end of this season, or the beginning of next season. He is just as loveable as he is on the show. He’s animated, enthusiastic, and sounds more like a big kid instead of a dad.

Before I could talk to him about the show, my curiosity got the better of me; I wanted to know what magical power he would want. The goofball takes this seriously and says, “I think I would have to go with flying. Just because I live in L.A. and there’s so much traffic. I wouldn’t mind flying, and picking up my kids and flying home.”

While in Vancouver with his brother Peter (we’ve seen him in Supernatural and Stargate SG-1), Peter asked him what he thought of the part. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, I love it! I would get to be a kooky dad teaching his kids about magic. It’s perfect,’” says DeLuise. “And he’s like, ‘I think you answered your question.’ I did not know that it was going to be what it is. And, I’m really happy to be a part of it. I have a lot of fun. My days are filled with joy now. It’s weird how things happen.”
