Kirsten Potter Is The Heiress at South Coast Rep Oct. 17-Nov. 16

        By Kenneth Jones
        17 Oct 2008

South Coast Repertory's new production of The Heiress, the psychological drama of love, innocence and betrayal by Ruth Goetz and Augustus Goetz, inspired by Henry James' novel "Washington Square," begins Oct. 17.

Kirsten Potter, a veteran of Milwaukee Rep and West Coast productions, plays the steely title character, Catherine Sloper.

Performances continue to Nov. 16 on the Segerstrom Stage in Costa Mesa, CA. Directed by SCR artistic director Martin Benson, The Heiress opens Oct. 24.

"Set in 1850s New York, a widower and his daughter go about their lives, each craving love but powerless to express their needs," according to SCR. "Into their home comes a suitor of great charm who awakens the daughter's spirit and brightens her world — and may or may not be a fortune hunter."

Tony Amendola plays Catherine's father, Dr. Sloper. Amendola, who has appeared at many leading theatres throughout the country, was a resident actor, director and associate artist at Berkeley Repertory Theatre from 1980-1990.

          Beau Bridges

          http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117...goryid=31&cs=1

          October 17 2008
          New U.S. Release
          Max Payne

          ExcerptS:

          Max Payne - Mark Wahlberg
          Mona Sax - Mila Kunis
          BB Hensley - Beau Bridges
Jim Bravura - Chris "Ludacris" Bridges
          Jason Colvin - Chris O'Donnell
          Alex Balder - Donal Logue
          Jack Lupino - Amaury Nolasco
          Nicole Horne - Kate Burton
          Natasha - Olga Kurylenko
          Michelle Payne - Marianthi Evans

Stylishly made, armed to the teeth and ludicrous in the extreme, “Max Payne” sends its eponymous antihero into New York’s underbelly on a deranged quest for revenge. ……

Determined to avenge his family, Max teams up with Natasha’s less trashy, more trigger-happy sister, Mona Sax (Mila Kunis, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”) and seeks sympathetic advice from ex-cop BB Hensley (Beau Bridges), now a top exec at Aesir, the major pharmaceutical company where Michelle used to work. It’s here that “Max Payne” goes quite literally to Hell, as the disillusioned detective realizes a link between Aesir and the pushers of a powerfully addictive drug that induces fiery visions of winged, Valkyrie-like demons. And you thought “The Constant Gardener” was scary.

SG1 - GateWorld: Corin Nemec Video Interview:

                      At GateWorld:

(Please follow the link to view the video interview and/or read the transcript.)

                      UNSUNG HERO

                      GateWorld talks with Corin Nemec

t has been more than five years since Jonas Quinn departed Stargate Command to help his people, the Langarans, rebuild a peaceful and prosperous civilization. During that time, fans of the character -- who was a regular member of SG-1 during Season Six -- have made actor Corin Nemec one of GateWorld's most requested interviews ever.

Now we're excited to finally bring you a special video interview with Corin! We caught up with the actor at Creation Entertainment's official Stargate convention in Vancouver, and talked about Corin's casting on the show, his decision to bulk up for the role, and the challenge of replacing a well-loved character. He also answers the question of whether he thinks Jonas's story is complete.

GateWorld's video interview with Corin runs approximately 15 minutes, and requires QuickTime 7.0 or higher. The interview is also available at GateWorld Play!

                      A brief excerpt:

GW: So when you look back on that experience now, the whole season that you spent there -- and you did an episode before and a few episodes after -- what stands out in your mind when you remember Stargate?

CN: It's interesting because working on Stargate, it's as cool as the show is to watch. The whole adventure of it, all the adventures that you go on, the obstacles you have to get over, the predicaments that you get caught in, the great writing, the dialogue, the different relationships. What I remember is I feel like I was on SG-1. You know what I mean?

As silly as that sounds, that's what it feels like. Because you film all those scenes you do, everything you watch on the show, you actually physically get to do. So it's like you lived it, in a weird way.

411's Ty Huston takes a look back at the game that started it all - Fallout.

                        excerpt:

                        Audio

This game features some incredible voice talent. While the music is decent, the voice talent will simply blow you away. The prologue to the game is narrated by Ron Pearlman, best known as "The Beast" from the late 1980s television series Beauty and the Beast which featured Linda Hamilton and in recent years he portrayed Hellboy in both of those movies. His opening words "War. War never changes." is one of the greatest catchphrases of the Fallout series. Other voice talent includes Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver & Stargate SG-1), David Warner (The Omen), Tony Shaloub (USA Network's Monk), Brad Garrett (Robert, Ray Romano's brother on Everybody Loves Raymond), Keith David (Platoon, Requiem for a Dream & Crash among others) and Richard Moll (Bull, the bailiff on the 1980s television series Night Court).

Hope this note finds you all well and happy. I just wanted to let you know that I just landed the best role anyone could ever hope for.

On Friday October 3rd, 2008 at 5:26pm, I took on the role of Mother. I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy little girl!! She weighed 6lbs 15 oz and measured 19 1/2 in long. Both her Dad and I couldn't be happier. Her name is Londyn Jean Alana Abrahams-Rothery....a true miracle!

Once I adjust to this "new role", I'll be back out in TV/Theatre land and will keep you posted on upcoming performances. Until then, I wish you health and happiness as always...

                              Posted on Sunday, October 19, 2008 - 06:07 PM

Early last week, Muse Entertainment begun principal photography on Sand Serpents, a thrilling tale of ferocious, man-eating serpents emerging out of the sands of Afghanistan attacking soldiers on a mission to root out and destroy secret Taliban bases. The film is set to air in the US on the SCI FI Channel in 2009, and on Super Channel in Canada.

The sci-fi film stars Jason Gedrick (Desperate Housewives) as Lt. Richard Stanley, the untried squad leader. His team of battle-weary veterans, decimated by a Taliban ambush, has to face an even greater peril; carnivorous serpents awakened beneath the ground. Tamara Hope (Whistler; Augusta, Gone) also stars as Capt. Jen Henle, who races against time to lead the dwindling band of survivors through the desert and underground tunnels to rendezvous with helicopter rescue. Elias Toufexis (Stargate: Atlantis; Smallville) plays a sarcastic private. The action-packed feature is directed by Jeff Renfroe (One Point O).
