A DVD review:
In our letter box: Letters about boxes
On the Small Screen fielded plenty of responses to the March 21 column, "Our DVD critic springs into a boxed-set fantasy world." Here are a few I wanted to share:
"My own favorite DVD boxed sets of all time are Seasons 3 through 5 of `Stargate SG-1' (MGM Video, $49.96 per season). While I love all things sci-fi, this series stands out since it doesn't take place several centuries from now in a futuristic world, but rather in the present day, where the protagonists use current military technology and strategy, making it all the more believable. The writing and acting during these seasons is top-notch, and there is a pervading sense of humor in the show, especially from the always-excellent Richard Dean Anderson, that keeps it enjoyable. While the most recent season of `SG-1' is now a very different show, it's still great fun to watch."
