From memory, the relatively failed Enterprise debuted with 12+million viewers before it tanked. The numbers for SciFi channel are so miniscule compared to others TV shows that I wonder why people carry on about them.In reality, 2 million viewers is nothing, really.

It doesn't matter that they are small relative to *some* network programming. They matter for the SciFi Channel. It's how they set ad rates and it's partly how they make decisions about which shows to keep and which to jetison.

...and on the male demographics, these shows are beating major network shows on Friday. SG-1 used to beat Enterprise. They aren't as miniscule as you think they are.

Plus Stargate is more popular in other countries than in USA.

As popular as the CBS, NBC or ABC shows.

2 million is not bad for cable. SG-1 has been in the top 10 of all cable shows!!!

As for Enterprise, the reason it was 'relatively failed' is it lost nearly all of its 12 million, beaten by BSG too!
