I once purchased this folder in real size. It includes a destination file (the yellowish one), two letters to General Hammond and Daniel Jackson, and a mission report written by Jack O'Neill.

So all I had to do was scanning these and making them smaller. Pretty cheap, hu?

The merchandise section is where I predominately spend my time on the GateWorld forum so I had no idea there was such a thing as Mala's World. It gave me a good chuckle (I promise I was laughing with you guys).

Yeah, I also never played much outside the merchandise corner, but I got invited over there by somebody who also has action figure pictures posted, and got asked to post mine as well. I came, I saw and decided to stay It's a crazy bunch of people, but I love it there, and it's always good for a chuckle or a nice picture of Jack. Mala does customizing in her own way also, she makes wonderful Jack character smileys, sometimes even little scenes, and she does photo manipulations, really good.

So, we're all creative, in different ways, and that's what I just like about "Stargate"! It brings out the best in all of us.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite customs. Not because it is anything special but because I’ve wanted this version of Sam since day one and I’ve finally got it thanks to the Desert series.

I sanded and filled in the lines of the original shirt at the shoulders and tried to give the impression of folds in the material on the sleeves. The rest is just a repaint.

I would love to do some sort of Vala version at some point as well.

Oh man, that looks BEAUTIFUL! Tell me, how did you do the wonderful sleeves? Are they the sleeves from the jacket or just a muck up of the arms themselves?

I was so hoping DST would do that version of Sam.

Well, to show you that I don't only like Jack customs I want to say that I also really like this Sam! Just yesterday I watched an old episode where she had the long sleeved shirt, and thought how much more appropriate that was for her than the other we got with the figures. And here you are doing it. Wonderful.

I think I'll carry this one over to Mala's world as well (if you don't object), because they are Sam- and Jack-fans and also Sam&Jack-fans

Not sure if I told already, but the next customing I want to do is to make the ramp bigger with additional parts, so that the MALP fits and also more than one person can walk up there. I just wait for the parts to arrive.

The entire figure is the Desert Sam. The sleeves are very simple. Simple on paper at least, because I always have difficulty with even the simplest kind of sculpting.

The main thing I tried to do is to give the impression of folds and gathering of the fabric with the modeling epoxy. This consists of little snakes of epoxy applied onto the arms. I read this somewhere on a custom figure site but I can’t remember where so I can’t direct you there. Hence, I’m only going by memory so I have to work on this effect a little. The rest is just paint.

I definitely have the UVG! Awesome book. I found out about it late but just in time. Would be quite wonderful if there could be a slight update and an Atlantis version.

Hahaha, none of that now. I'm not a snakehead (or so I claim). Many thanks nonetheless.

Sam's blue isn't nearly as blue as Daniel's. I was going for a much more washed-out look. I've included a pic to show the two figures in the same light for comparison.
