Both Atlantis and puddle jumpers are ancient tech, that's why they could modify the shield. The Daedalus uses Asgard tech.

So what if it's smaller? Cloaks take a considerable amount of power to fire up. More than our Naquadah generators can sustain.

Actually, if I recall the episode Grace Under Pressure, shields actually take up more power than cloak.

But dell doesn't use Firewire. IIRC, Apple is the only one that ships with Firewire on their laptops.
