Nielsens: 'CSI' on top for premiere week

    By Gary Levin, USA TODAY

Networks ushered in the 2007-08 TV season last week, and an exploding array of measurements and means of viewing makes keeping score trickier.

Overall viewing last week was down 7% from the comparable week last year (and down 10% among young adults). And apart from NBC's Bionic Woman and ABC's Private Practice, which each averaged about 14 million viewers in the same Wednesday time slot, there were no early signs of a breakout hit.

    **snippage**

    Cable comings and goings
Showtime's Dexter (1 million viewers) and Brotherhood (371,000) and Sci Fi's Ghost Hunters (2 million) and Stargate: Atlantis (1.7 million) started new seasons. TBS' House of Payne (3.3 million) and VH1's Rock of Love (a big 5.4 million) ended theirs (except for Rock's reunion Sunday, 8 ET/PT).

SGA will probably get about a 1.3 to 1.4! Doesn't matter its the demographics and the DVR numbers they need to look at. If the next few eps can stay around a 1.3 to 1.4. We'll be fine, i think.
