Ok, I got it now. But I haven't watched that episode in a long time, so I think a FEW of these words might be off. So I DEFINITELY better spoiler this, so I don't ruin the answer for the rest of you!!

Most vampire lore is crap. A cross won't repel them, sunlight won't kill them, and neither will a stake to the heart.
