History:

Zack was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1971. He emigrated with his parents when he was 5 to the UK, he was a bright kid and was never in trouble. He enjoyed school and especially enjoyed History. He moved to Worcestershire in England and went to the Chase High School.When he had done his A levels he went to Oxford University to study Anthropology and History, he received his degree 3 years later and carried on for a masters degree in Anthropology and History.

While he was at University he joined the Territorial Army. He later served in Kosovo and experienced the horrors of war first-hand. Zack felt he had a duty to help people by protecting them from danger. He completed his service in the TA and decided to take an officer training course offer. He completed his training and was commissioned as a Captain in the Worcestershire and Sherwood Forester regiment. He was stationed in the Balkans until the 9/11 incident. He was sent abroad for a 2 year tour in Afghanistan in 2001 as part of the British forces in the Helmund province. He was involved in a gunfight which left his best friend dead and himself injured. Zack eventually finished his tour and was shipped back to Britain.

Zack suffered emotional trauma after the incident and resigned his commission. He decided to return to his first interest in life. History. Zack published a paper on ancient cultures and the Gods. He attracted the attention of Dr. Daniel Jackson.

Jackson felt that Zack had potential, so Jackson recruited Zack to work at the SGC in 2003, joining teams offworld studying different cultures. Zack was briefly part of SG-9. However he was sent by General Hammond to the Alpha site to meet with Colonel Sharp to study some ancient writings due to Jackson busy on the hunt of the Ancient outpost.

Shortly after he arrived at the Alpha site, Earth was destroyed. Colonel Sharp needed a specialist in Ancient Cultures to be part of the flagship team of the Alpha Site. Zack was chosen due to his expertise in the subject and his experience in the armed forces. Zack accepted the positon with gusto and is a valued member of the new SG1.
