With a nod towards the officers, “Alright. If you say so. Sir. Ma’am.” Tim slowly backed away towards the exit, not quite at ease with leaving them to their experimenting without any medical back up… but hopefully they knew what they were doing…

He turned and walked back to the MALP room, only to find the Lt sitting by the wall. Squatting down next to him, he said quietly, “Sir? Come on. Let’s go and find that bed with your name on it.”

Sir. That was him. He fought through the pounding headache and weakly lifted his head, staring at the Sergeant through bleary eyes. He didn't remember being so tired, but then...when was the last time he'd slept?

Bed. Sleep. He put the jigsaw pieces back together. They were headed to the infirmary before the explosion, he remembered. "Yeah, yeah. Crisis averted already? You work fast."

Infirmary, he sternly reminded himself. "Um. Hand?"

Tim grinned, “Yes sir. Crisis over.” ‘White lies! Like I haven’t done that before when needed.’ He made a mental shrug and continued without hesitation, “You did great Lieutenant”
He stood and offered his hand for Hughes to take, “Just get up slowly, ok? The CMO would kill me if you added yet another concussion to this one…”

Robert took Foster's hand. Kill? That sounded distinctly...ungood. He was too young to die. What was the sentence for -- more or less -- staging a jailbreak from the infirmary? Did it even matter that he'd done some good?

On his own two feet, he never quite got started towards the infirmary. "Do you think Doctor Aaronson will kill me? I helped," he yawned mid-sentence, "My unparalleled genius and all."

The current form of his genius, a visibility shield. 'Cause, really, how freaking brilliant was that? I should get something. Maybe a commendation. That might be nice,' he decided. His thoughts briefly went to Major Stevens and he wondered whether she would have been proud.

Tim helped the man to his feet, “Don’t worry, Aaronson only kills geniuses on Saturdays and by then you should be out of there. Come on, let’s get out of here.”
He took a steadying, but gentle hold of the officer’s arm to make sure he kept his balance and led him towards the stairs, grabbing two flashlights as they passed an emergency locker down the hall.
The Furbies kept coming in a steady stream, from all directions, moving towards the Gate room. Whatever had occurred in there, it was apparently working like a magnet for the critters.

He opened the door towards the lower levels and handed one of the flashlights to Hughes before entering, “You ok sir? Think you can make it down in one piece?”

            [Gate room] {General Blue} {Galen Perris - General's Aide (tmp)} {Janus}
(( I'm going to assume that the med team arrives. ))

The medical team arrived and arrayed themselves along the wall, out of the way but at the ready. An airman trotted in from the Control room and came over the the general.
"Sir," he said, holding out a note, "A list of interim gate addresses for the Lieutenant to use."
Nick took the paper and read it, "Very good, Airman. Thank you." Looking at Hayden, he told her, "You'll bounce through 3 gates and end up at Helumoa, our gamma site. They'll do a medical check on you and send you back here." He crooked a finger at one of the security team.
The woman approached, a uncertain look on her face. "Sir?"
He handed the note to her, "Corporal Harris, you'll accompany Lt. Hayden. It shouldn't take more than a day. You'll have 48 hours leave on Helumoa while they run tests on Hayden."
Jane nodded sharply, "Yes, sir. Escort Lt. Hayden for at least the next 24 hours. Leave on Helumoa - 48 hours. Report back here."
The woman read the note, folded it in half and tucked it into an outside pocket on her vest. One of her squadmates handed off two pre-packed travel packs as she stepped back. "Thank you for the leave, sir," she added with a smile.
Nick turned to look into the control room and made a dialing motion with his hand. Immediately the stargate sprang into action, whirring and thunking as the chevrons locked. "Let's do this," he ordered, "Flip the switch."
Hayden stepped clear of everybody and thumbed the start up button. The nose tickling ozone scent of an imminent thunderstorm filled the room. After the first few seconds no one really noticed though because the room also began to fill with their fuzzy little interlopers. While most of them swarmed around Hayden like a hurricane, Nick found himself at the eye of a lesser storm.
I think they like our naquida, too. I hope they don't want to stay with us, Janus observed with some trepidation.
They watched for a few seconds as the creatures flitted around. I don't think they will. It looks like they come over and 'taste' us but like Hayden better. See, it's already getting thinner around us.
Raising his voice but moving no closer to her, Blue informed Hayden, "We'll keep a carrier wave going to hold the Gate open for a few minutes and let the stragglers get through. I'll let you know when we're about to close it. Harris will bring your weapons and travel pack. Stay safe."
Hayden touched her brow in a semblance of a salute, "Will do, General. See you in a couple hours." With that, the woman trotted up the ramp and through the Gate. The swarm that followed quickly dwindled to a few stragglers.
"Perris, do a role call of departments and make sure all our friends have left the building before we shut down."

(( Leaving it open for Dillon to maybe keep a few Furbies around. ))

"That's nice." He yawned again. He could do Saturdays.

The pair crossed the short distance to the stairs and Robert accepted the flashlight. "I'm good," he replied. Not that he would ever admit otherwise. He was much too self-sufficient for that.

He took the first step a little unsteadily, and began the slow walk towards the infirmary.
