Favorite TV Show Tourney - (2005-2011)

|'ve been wondering that for awhile now. It should have been gone along time ago.

Sorry to the Life on Mars fans. I realized about half the shows left I haven't ever seen (most with no chance to see) and decided I needed put some of them on the list.

Sounds like you're not in the US then. There's always U TUBE to catch what you've never seen. I watched a whole series that had been shown last century but that I never even found out about until this year on YT. Course if you don't want to see them that's a whole other story

Edit: Ooops forgot to add in the 2 shows left that I actually know and like. Yeah this tourney is not quite turning out my way. But then again I don't think there were alot on the list I liked to begin with.

I know the feeling about close captioning. You never know... they might come up with something that will let you watch one day soon. At least you got to see Stargate - otherwise why would you be here

I started visiting GW on a regular basis when I got DSL a couple years ago but I rarely particpate in any SG discussion except for a few tourney threads.

Insurance is a ridiculous thing sometimes. It will pay for the hearing tests so I do know that hearing problems are not my imagination (I can hear most things but closed captioning is really nice in filling in the gaps so you don't have to have the tv as loud (which doesn't help alot anyway) and can sit back and relax and not strain to understand everything someone is saying - also I found that in lots of tv shows they list the music that is playing if its's a published song) But insurance won't pay for the hearing aids to improve your hearing.

I know what you mean about cutting back... we just have network cable and expanded for scifi channel. Everything's digital now but we don't bother with the boxes since we don't pay for the digital packages. It gives us the basics, which right now is about all we have time to watch and we supplement it with netflix for movie night. (theaters are way too expensive).

I just found out about the way it works to get hearing tests as I'm helping my dad try to finally (after decades) get one. He's trying and the doctor set it up so that if he doesn't like what he gets, if it doesn't work, he'll get his money back (or the majority of it). There are some hearing aids that they have in catalogs but they're general and the feedback is really annoying. My father wanted to try something out first before he went through all the trouble of the testing and what not. There's also using headphones which might help a bit... brings the sound closer.

I love closed captioning. I have it on all the time. (Well, except when my parents are over. It drives my Dad nuts. Mind you he's the one that has his TV turned up so loud!)
