Sorry I hate hate hate those kind of movies. Annoy me to death. I'd rather watch Contact or 2001(at least I could get some sleep). And for those in other tourneys - I'd rather eat Jello.

Round 21 I normally refuse to watch horror films or anything that could be remotely considered "horror" (yes I know - rather limits some of my choices) but a friend of mine made me see the Alien flicks. Out of the series I must say that Aliens was damn impressive and deserves to be high on the final list - the rest nah.
The thing that makes Aliens NOT a horror film is that in horror you have little or no chance of fighting back. Aliens is about courage and love, specifically, the love of woman for child, both on the part of the Queen and Ripley. When Ripley mounts the loader and confronts the Queen with "Leave her alone YOU B***H" my heart must have lept three feet. It is a trimuphant story. Ripley who could not sleep without nightmares in the early part of the film and is desperate to not return to the planet, faces her fears: of the Alien, of the loss of her own life and the loss of her own mother and finds peace of mind. Not without an amazing struggle, of course.

Silent Running

Thanks I appreciate the thought, but that only works if I'm on a desert island with just those movies. And no food but jello I'm here at home, feeling much better today, got over 10 hrs sleep so I'm going to watch something that doesn't make my eyes roll. Maybe a good comedy like Spaceballs or Mars Attacks. Those movies are 10 times more appealing to me that Alien stuff.
P.S. What's that 3rd picture? too blury
P.P.S. if you really wanted to do anything for me you'd vote Jello

Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.
