        wow....that was fun to go listen to all those. Noticed two things: (1) voiceovers ruin a lot of good themes and (2) I tend to favor the themes for shows I've been addicted to watched in the past. Although I really liked a couple of themes - Red Dwarf comes to mind - for shows I haven't seen. And I quite like the X-Files theme even though I wasn't a huge fan of that show.

        GREAT idea for a tournament.

        My picks right now are BSG:TNS, Farscape, SG-1, Angel, Babylon 5 (3), XFiles and DS9

          In some cases, yeah the voice-overs ruined it. I really didn't like Farscape (1) and season 3's was quite a bit better but i still wasn't thrilled, but i liked Babylon 5. They made good use of it. As for Alien Nation, that voice-over actually made me want to watch the show..

              I listened to all the themes and had some pleasant suprises, but before I vote I've got a question.
              There are 2 versions of the Space 1999 theme on the mythemes site and 1 of them I like a whole lot better than the over (as in 1 will be in my 1st group to vote off - and no you didn't get to know which ). So for Ptah and/or those who nominated it - which one are we supposed to use.

              Also I don't think we should be using the links for Angel and X-Files. Those are extended album versions not the version from the show. The show versions are on http://mythemes.tv/

                  The first opening sequence listed (chronologically), which is why when Classic Who got voted for, the first doctor's theme was used.

                    This is a lot of fun. Got a whole evening of entertainment out of it, Started with my spouse giving opinions, then a trivia game of "guess that tune" with all the other TV shows.

                    Overall, there are themes which are good as music and others that have a great science fiction feel to them. The Dr.Who theme has that SciFi feel to it. From a musical standpoint, the Trek themes are hard to beat. Voyager is my personal favorite of the whole list of "musical" themes. And being a big acoustic music fan, I love the Firefly theme.

                    We should really try not to turn this into a parallel vote to the best shows vote, but the emotional connections do play a part.

                        Does anyone have the Greatest American Hero theme in .mp3? Or .wav, or even .wma... anything but .ra. iTunes doesn't like it, and neither do I 'cause realone is eeeevil.
