Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

Darn....missed the final voting round. And I'd decided I was going to go for Firefly (for the win) over SG-1. Guess it wouldn't have mattered, SG-1 kind of had it in the bag.
My personal "top 5":
BSG
B5
Farscape
Sg-1 or Firefly (depending on my mood)
ST: TOS
Well it was an interesting tourney. Learned alot about other shows. If B5 ever makes it to local tv syndication, I'll give it another try. Or someone can be very generous and buy the dvds for me
My top shows (not necessarily in order)
Farscape
XF (S1-7)
Sliders (s1-3)
Stargate (s1-4, and 5, 7 if I'm being generous)

Since everyone's posting their personal preferences, I might as well join in:
1. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
2. Babylon 5
3. Star Trek: The Next Generation
4. Farscape
5. Battlestar Galactica: TNS - I'm a recent convert.
The Stargates don't quite make my top 5. If SG-1 had finished at the end of season 7, then yeah, it probably would've been in the top 5.
6. Firefly
7. Stargate SG-1
8. Stargate Atlantis
Honourable mentions go to ST: TOS, ST: Voyager, Quantum Leap, X Files, Space: Above and Beyond and Lexx - Very obscure and not for everyone, but I loved it.
LOL! I have a lot of favourites. I'm really just a fan of anything sci-fi.
Well, I'll jump on the band wagon (remember kids ALWAYS bow to peer pressure )
1. Firefly
2. Doctor Who: TNS
3. Angel
4. Star Trek: Deep Space 9
5. Doctor Who: TOS
6. Buffy
7.Farscape
8.Stargate SG1

I think I've seen most of the episodes for this show. Very Very Weird. But oddly compelling. I don't think I would put it on any favorite list. They were some very good arcs and some I didn't like. However, I would recommend people try it to see something very different and you might just get hooked.

^Indeed. Lexx was very weird. Seasons 1 and 3 were my favourites. It was a fitting finale at the end of season 4, rounded the series off well. I would recommend it to people who are looking for something to watch that's different from the norm.

Yup Trek_Girl, it has me hooked. I'd seen the mini-series, but it took me a while to get a hold of the first season.
Hey Ptah, where's your mention of BSG: TNS? I'll let you off seeing as I forgot to mention Dr Who.
1. Stargate Sg-1
2. Babylon 5
3: Star Trek: Voyager
4: Firefly
5: Star Trek: TOS
6: Star Trek: TNG
7: Dr. Who TOS
8: Star Trek: DS9 (this one is climbing as I watch seasons 6-7 for the first time)
